Sunday August 18th, 2024 six teenagers began an adventure into the unknown. They heard the advertisements of CPR & First Aid training, firefighter training, brotherhood, and camaraderie. And they showed up! We’ve got a great group of teenagers who are eager to learn this aspect of public safety and community service. Some are considering public safety as a career either before or after military service.

After our Open House 2 weeks ago to give a taste of the program, a few Jr. Firefighters brought friends with them to check it out. They participated in an application process that included a written test similar to Firefighter Entrance Exam, a panel interview, and a physical agility course. With our advisors who are volunteering their time to share the love of the job, Junior Firefighters will meet every other Sunday from 2-5pm.

Each session will include physical fitness training, classroom training, and hands-on skill building.
